Description: PGCSC staff and volunteer benefit counselors provide free objective information and assistance about insurance and benefits for seniors and caregivers. Services include:
- Assisting with Medicare and supplemental claims information, appeals, and resolving problems.
- Information on applying for Social Security, Medicare and Supplemental Security Income (SSI).
- Explaining and comparing Medicare supplemental policies.
- Information on HMOs, managed care, and options under Medicare.
- Information on eligibility for low income related programs such as Arizona’s low-income health program (AHCCCS), ALTCS (Arizona’s Medicaid program), SSI, and Arizona’s prescription assistance.
Eligibility: To be eligible, you must be:
- At least 60 years of age, or
- A caregiver or family member of an eligible older adult.
Availability: Available in Pinal and Gila counties. Benefits volunteers are available on scheduled days at the following senior centers: Apache Junction, Casa Grande, Globe, Hayden, Kearny, Miami, Oracle, Payson, and Superior. You may also call (800) 293-9393 or (520) 836-2758.
