Long Term Care Ombudsman Volunteer

The Long Term Care Ombudsman Volunteer visits a long-term care or assisted living facility at least once a week for two hours in order to establish relationships with staff and residents. While there, the Ombudsman educates, identifies, assists, promotes, empowers and coordinates services and efforts with residents, families, and other agencies and service providers. When necessary, the Ombudsman also investigates and attempts to resolve complaints made by or on behalf of long term care residents. Training is provided and required.
